About Us
Founded in Brisbane in 2007, The Cloakroom has evolved into a world renowned tailoring brand with stores in Brisbane, Montreal and Tokyo. Characterised by their artisanal quality, Cloakroom garments are cut from the finest fabrics and crafted by the finest tailors. Each piece is unique in cut and style, and allows the wearer to define who they are.

Maison Cloakroom is founded on the belief that clothing is an extension and expression of self. A belief that our wardrobe reflects our tastes, values and ideas, and says everything about who we are without saying anything at all. It offers a rare opportunity to truly define who we are.
Our Story
The Cloakroom was first established in 2007 in Brisbane, Australia. In 2014, Maison Cloakroom was opened in Montreal - taking our vision of thoughtfully tailored and carefully crafted menswear to North America. In 2017, we opened our third store in Ginza, Tokyo.

The Cloakroom was founded and launched in Brisbane, Australia - originally as a tailoring house specialising in shirting.
2014
Opened in Montreal
In 2014, Maison Cloakroom opened its doors in Downtown Montreal with a comprehensive mens retail concept in an iconic 19th century building.
2015
Barbershop Opened
In 2015, Maison Cloakroom launched the renowned Cloakroom Barber. Situated at the back of the tailoring store, The Cloakroom Barber prioritised high-end service to offer the men of Montreal the ultimate grooming experience.
2015
Cloakroom Bar Opened
In 2015, the award-winning Cloakroom Bar was opened in the tenancy adjacent to the shop. Designed as a speakeasy-style bar without a menu, Cloakroom Bar distills the essence of tailoring into a cocktail lounge.
2016
Made in Japan
The Cloakroom moves its suit tailoring production to Japan, drawing from the country's deep reservoir of tailoring talent.

Stefano Bemer
Maison Cloakroom partners with Stefano Bemer, offering our clients access to one of the world’s best shoemakers.
2018
Tokyo Store Opened
In 2018, The Cloakroom officially opened our third store in Tokyo, located in the heart of Tokyo’s luxury shopping district in Ginza.
2023
No. 2 Bar in Canada
In 2023, Cloakroom Bar was ranked the number 2 best bar in all of Canada, and number 35 best bar in all of North America - underscoring the team's commitment to curating a world-class cocktail experience.
2024
Kyoto Workshop
The Cloakroom moves suiting production to small, specialised atelier just outside of Kyoto, Japan.

Meet The Montreal Team
Sacha opened Maison Cloakroom in 2014 and has been at the helm ever since. During work hours, Sacha oversees the running of the Maison Cloakroom store and barber, and out of hours, he can often be found cooking has favourite Italian dishes.
Sacha Iovino
Louis grew up in Montreal, but moved to Brisbane, Australia during his 20's. There, he was introduced to The Cloakroom, and became an owner. In 2014, he brought the concept to Montreal, opening Maison Cloakroom with his childhood friend, Sacha.
Louis Ialenti
Victor joined The Cloakroom in 2019. His family have a long background in the clothing and textiles industry, and he shares their passion in this regard. Victor helps Cloakroom clients define their signature style and hone the fit of their clothing.
