Pitti Uomo 2025: Maison Cloakroom in Florence

Menswear's Main Event: Pitti Uomo

Twice a year, every year — in January and June — Florence's population swells, negroni sales spike and social media feeds around the world are awash with imagery of suit-clad men strutting their stuff along the cobbled streets that surround the Fortezza da Basso. Such is the seismic significance of menswear's most important fixture: Pitti Uomo.

The Origins & Evolution of Pitti Uomo

Pitti, as it’s colloquially known, started in 1972 as a platform for raising the profiles of emerging Italian designers. At the time of its launch, Italian luxury had recently coming into vogue, with brands like Gucci and Giorgio Armani beginning to garner global acclaim and attention. In the decades since, Pitti Uomo has cemented itself as the most important trade show in menswear — catering to an international audience of brands, buyers, makers and made-to-measure businesses, both emerging and established.

The Cloakroom at Pitti Uomo: Why We Love it

Despite the posing and peacocking that occurs outside the Fortezza da Basso — the kind that floods any menswear aficionado’s Instagram feed at least twice a year — Pitti Uomo remains a serious affair for brands and businesses like ours. It’s where we met the artisans who craft our suits in Japan, where we first fell in love with Stefano Bemer shoes, and where we discovered the maker of the world’s finest leather jackets — the very ones now available in our Montreal showroom.

What We Got Up to At This Years Pitti Uomo

That said, Pitti Uomo is still a lot of fun. After all, spending the week unwinding with Italian aperitifs, savouring Tuscan wines over steak dinners, and strolling through one of the world’s most storied and historically rich cities — while being photographed for The Cloakroom Standard (the journal you’re reading right now) — is indeed a fantastic way to spend the second week of January.

Our Highlights From Pitti Uomo 107

Back to business. The highlights of our trip to Pitti Uomo this year include: plans to deepen our collaboration with our leather maker, expanding our made-to-measure and made-to-order programs to offer six distinct leather jacket styles; the introduction of a new tailored jeans program launching on April 1; and the debut of a western-style shirt, crafted from the finest Japanese denim, available in both made-to-measure and ready-to-wear. We look forward to showing you the fruits of our trip to Florence and the iconic Pitti Uomo over the coming months and year!
